According to Tom's Hardware, Intel released a series of news at the 2019 Investor Conference. Its CEO Bob Swan announced that Intel will launch its first discrete 10nm GPU in 2020, and launched the first Ice Lake architecture block diagram. Its new 10nm Tiger Lake processor will be available in 2020, followed by the 7nm process in 2021.

Among them, Intel said that Ice Lake uses a new design architecture Sunny Cove solution and Gen11 core graphics. It also integrates WiFi 6 (802.11ax) and Thunderbolt 3 interfaces.

The architecture diagram shows that Intel still adheres to its ring bus architecture and integrates a USB Type-C controller on the chip for the first time.

Intel said that Ice Lake has a 2x improvement in graphics performance and video transcoding speed compared to the previous generation, a 2.5x to 3.5x increase in AI performance, and a 3x increase in wireless speed.

Intel announced that Ice Lake-SP data center processors have been delivered to major customers. Cooper Lake processors based on 14nm are also expected to be delivered in 2020. At the same time, the 10nm Tiger Lake processors, which will be launched in 2020, will adopt a new core architecture, an updated GPU and I/O technology that is the same as Intel's Xe discrete graphics architecture.

Intel said the new processors will have more cores, and it's also working to shorten the time between server processor releases.
