Regardless of the size of the medical equipment used to save lives, they must meet the following requirements: reliability - a device that frequently needs to be restarted is unacceptable; user-friendly UI - more and more user interfaces are implemented by high-resolution graphic displays with cleverly arranged menus and multimedia functions; low power consumption and low cost - these two factors are the development trend of most embedded systems, including embedded medical devices.
To develop embedded medical devices according to these requirements, it is necessary to select an appropriate development platform. Based on TI's AM335x series processors, Embest Technology has designed three development platforms that can be used in different scenarios, namely the Devkit8600 evaluation kit, the SBC8600 single-board computer and the element14 Beaglebone Black development kit, which are very suitable for the development of medical device applications.
The Devkit8600 evaluation kit uses the TI AM3359 processor with a main frequency of 720MHz.
SBC8600 is an embedded single board computer based on AM3359 launched by Embest following the DevKit8600 evaluation kit.
element14 BeagleBone Black is a development kit based on TI AM3358 processor. Its integrated processor core is the same as AM3359, but the frequency is up to 1GHz.
The TI AM335X series processors used in these three products are low-cost and low-power, which can perfectly meet the cost control and energy-saving requirements of medical equipment. The AM335X processor also integrates the POWER SGX530 graphics engine, which can add 3D interactive touch effects and higher resolution to development projects. The LCD touch screen can be connected through the LCD interface of the Devkit8600 and SBC8600 single-board computers, and the element14 BeagleBone Black can also be connected to the touch screen through the BB VIEW expansion module, providing convenient conditions for the development and testing of friendly human-machine interfaces. At the same time, Embest provides user manuals, PDF schematics, external expansion interface drivers, BSP source code packages, development tools, etc., providing developers with a complete software development environment, reducing product development cycles, and ensuring system reliability to the greatest extent.
The market competition of embedded medical devices will become increasingly fierce. Choosing the right development platform is particularly important for the research and development of embedded medical devices. Embest Technology has rich experience in the field of embedded system design and can provide embedded engineers with complete software and hardware supply and professional technical support services, thereby helping developers to launch embedded medical devices with cost-effectiveness, high reliability and good human-machine interface in a relatively short period of time.
