First introduction | Mengzhimo on-site rapid board making to support Jiangsu Vocational School Skills Competition
From January 7 to 9, 2022, the 2022 Jiangsu Vocational College Skills Competition, co-organized by 14 departments including the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, was successfully held at Suzhou Vocational and Technical College of Economics and Trade. Among them, a total of 39 teams and 117 contestants participated in the "Electronic Product Design and Production" event of the higher vocational group. After 8 hours of intense competition, 4 first prizes, 8 second prizes, and 12 third prizes were finally produced.
The vocational school skills competition is a national first-class competition announced by the Ministry of Education. The Jiangsu Vocational School Skills Competition "Higher Vocational Electronics and Information • Electronic Product Design and Production" competition introduced the PCB on-site production link for the first time , which improved the entire competition process and achieved a more comprehensive and rigorous assessment of the contestants.
In actual applications, the design and production of electronic products mainly include a series of processes such as circuit principle design, schematic simulation test, PCB design, PCB production, component installation, and system function test. However, in such student competitions, the " PCB production" link is usually missing because it cannot be completed on site.
Therefore, in previous competitions, standard modules were usually used as an alternative. Although students had different circuit designs, they could only use the uniformly distributed circuit boards for soldering, which resulted in the circuit design assessment remaining at the principle level, and was unable to test students' actual ability from design to production, thus achieving the expected effect of the "electronic product design and production" competition.
The emergence of the Mengzhimo T series PCB rapid board making system makes it possible to conduct on-site inspection of the entire process of "electronic design and production".
The T series equipment has a compact structure and small size. It integrates punching, hole metallization, circuit printing, character silk screen printing, solder paste printing and cutting functions. The production time of a 200mm*160mm PCB double-sided double-panel is about 80 minutes (the size of student circuit works is <100mm*80mm).
Before the competition, the experts of the competition group had a full discussion and verification with the Mengzhimo team. The results showed that the functions and parameters of the Mengzhimo T series equipment can meet the requirements of the competition. At the same time, Mengzhimo provides matching competition process management software, which can complete the machinability review of the drawings and automatically generate review reports, further ensuring the smooth progress of the competition.

Finally, the T series equipment as the on-site board-making platform for the "Electronic Product Design and Production" competition successfully completed the support work for this event and received high praise from the competition expert group. The Mengzhimo team also left a deep impression on the experts and teachers with "fast speed, good quality and good service".
After the competition, we learned from the organizing committee that four of the top six winning teams used self-designed circuit diagrams to make boards on site and successfully completed system debugging, which fully demonstrated the technical level of the contestants and fully met pre-match expectations.
This result also successfully verified the feasibility of introducing on-site PCB board making in such competitions, and can further promote the curriculum construction and teaching reform of related majors in the direction of modern electronic technology application.
Experts said that the successful introduction of the on-site PCB production process has made circuit diagram design in e-sports competitions no longer just talk. It allows theory to be combined with practice and can better promote the cultivation of high-quality skilled talents.
