PCB board interconnection method

Many people in the PCB class know it, but do you know what interconnection methods it has? Electronic components and electromechanical components have electrical contacts, and the electrical connection between two discrete contacts is called interconnection. Electronic devices must be interconnected according to the circuit schematic diagram to achieve their intended functions. So what are the ways to interconnect PCB boards? The following is a brief overview of two types:
1. Welding method
The advantages of this connection method are simplicity, low cost, high reliability, and can avoid failures caused by poor contact; the disadvantage is that interchange and maintenance are not convenient enough. This method is generally suitable for components with few external leads.
1. PCB wire welding
This method does not require any connectors, just use wires to directly weld the external connection points on the PCB printed board to the components or other components outside the board. For example, the speaker in the radio, the battery box, etc.
2. PCB cable welding
The two PCB printed boards are connected using a flat cable, which is reliable and less prone to connection errors, and the relative positions of the two PCB printed boards are not restricted.
3. Direct welding between PCBs
Direct welding between printed boards is often used to connect two printed boards at a 90-degree angle. After connection, it becomes an integral PCB printed board component.
2. Plug-in connection method
In more complex instruments and equipment, plug-in connectors are often used. This "building block" structure not only ensures the quality of product mass production, reduces the cost of the system, but also provides convenience for debugging and maintenance. When equipment fails, maintenance personnel do not have to check to the component level (that is, check the cause of the failure and trace it back to the specific components. This work takes a lot of time), as long as they determine which board is abnormal. They can be replaced immediately to eliminate faults quickly, reduce downtime and increase equipment utilization. The replaced circuit board can be repaired in ample time and used as spare parts after repair.
1. Printed board socket
This connection method is often used in more complex instruments and equipment. This method is to make a printed plug from the edge of the PCB printed board. The plug part is designed according to the size of the socket, the number of contacts, the contact distance, the position of the positioning holes, etc., so that it matches the dedicated PCB printed board socket.
2. Standard pin connection
This method can be used for external connection of printed boards, especially in small instruments, pin connections are often used. When two printed boards are connected through standard pins, the two printed boards are generally parallel or vertical, making mass production easy. The above is the interconnection method of PCB boards. I hope it can help you.
