Nidec Intelligent Motion Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of the Nidec Group, has taken the lead in developing an electric clutch ECU for two-wheeled vehicles. The system can achieve gear shifting in scenarios where the driving force of the two-wheeled vehicle changes, such as starting, changing speed, and stopping, without the rider having to operate the clutch handle.
Electric clutch ECU for two-wheeled vehicles
Unlike four-wheeled vehicles, medium-sized and larger two-wheeled vehicles mainly use manual transmission (hereinafter referred to as "MT"), which requires operating the clutch and shifting gears in scenarios such as starting, changing speed, and parking.
The electric clutch ECU developed by Nidec Intelligent Motion is installed in the MT two-wheeler clutch automatic control system, and the rider can switch between MT mode and AT mode at will.
This product development adopted the "model-based development" method, which shortened the trial product delivery time from about one year to five months. Model-based development is a method of promoting design and development by modeling the control and control objects of the construction system and verifying them through simulation.
This method can be used to perform verification in the design phase and reduce rework in the verification phase, thereby significantly shortening development time and improving quality.
Nidec Intelligent Motion has already achieved mass production of multiple control units in the fields of four-wheeled vehicles and two-wheeled vehicles, and our technical strength has been recognized by customers. In the future, we will continue to promote the development of automotive electronic control technology, lead the market, develop products that are beneficial to safety, security and environmental protection, and achieve a reasonable match between people and cars in the automotive society.
