On the morning of June 8, Apple recently obtained a new patent that allows users to take photos and group photos remotely.
The content of this patent is not difficult to understand. It allows users to send selfie invitations to others. If accepted, others can remotely synthesize a group photo by simply activating the camera of their own mobile phone. Similar functions are actually available in third-party software, but this method has not been used before.
If this software is developed, users will be able to remotely invite others to take photos with them.
The patent also describes a pop-up invitation where the user accepts the invitation and positions themselves in the frame, with the remote selfie being able to choose between "a still photo, a video image, or a live streaming image."
Currently, the COVID-19 outbreak in the United States, this way of taking photos seems to be very suitable for the current situation. However, foreign media the Verge pointed out that Apple applied for this patent in 2018, but it was not approved until recently. It is worth mentioning that large companies like Apple often apply for many patents, only some of which can enter the practical stage, and the others may be used as technical reserves.
