Infineon Supervisory Board will hold general election

In preparation for the annual general meeting of shareholders on February 16, 2023, the Supervisory Board of Infineon Technologies proposed to re-elect the members of the Supervisory Board in line with the company’s recent strategic decisions. Dr. Wolfgang Eder (70 years old) and Mr. Hans-Ulrich Holdenried (71 years old), who have served as Chairman of the Supervisory Board since 2019, have decided to support the re-election of the Supervisory Board and will resign from the Supervisory Board at the next general meeting of shareholders. The candidates to replace them are Dr. Herbert Diess (64 years old) and Mr. Klaus Helmrich (64 years old). Dr. Diess is expected to become the new Chairman of the Supervisory Board, which will be voted on at the Annual General Meeting.


Dr. Eder, the current chairman of the Supervisory Board of Infineon, said: "Now is a good time to re-elect the members of the Supervisory Board. Dr. Wolfgang Eder has been a member of the Supervisory Board of Infineon since 2018, Chairman of the Supervisory Board since 2019, and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of voestalpine AG (voestalpine AG) since 2022. He worked for voestalpine AG from 1978 to 2019 and served as Chairman of the company's Management Board from 2004 to 2019.


Mr. Hans-Ulrich Holdenried has been a member of the Supervisory Board of Infineon since 2010 and an independent business consultant since 2009. Prior to that, he worked for Hewlett-Packard from 1976 to 2008 and served as General Manager of Hewlett-Packard Germany GmbH from 2004 to 2008.


Dr. Herbert Diess serves as CEO of the Volkswagen Group from 2018 to 2022. He started his career at Robert Bosch GmbH in 1989 and later held executive positions at the BMW Group (member of the Management Board from 2007 to 2015) and the Volkswagen Group. From 2015 to 2020, he served as a member of the Supervisory Board of Infineon.


Mr. Klaus Helmrich is a member of the supervisory boards of ZF Friedrichshafen AG and Festo SE & Co. KG and a member of the board of directors of the Friedhelm Loh Stiftung Foundation. Prior to this, he worked at Siemens AG for 35 years, holding a number of different positions until his departure in 2021. Mr. Klaus Helmrich has been a member of the Management Board of Siemens AG since 2011 and has been CEO of Digital Industries since 2019.
