2024 China Automotive Charging and Battery Swapping Ecosystem Conference held in Taiyuan

2024 is an important year for the charging and swapping industry to make innovative breakthroughs and move towards high-quality development. my country has built the world's largest charging and swapping service network. In order to further improve the charging service guarantee capabilities and promote cooperation and win-win results between upstream and downstream of the industrial chain, the 2024 China Automotive Charging and Swapping Ecological Conference with the theme of "New Pattern, New Future - Building a Smart Energy Replenishment Service Ecological System" was held in Taiyuan, Shanxi from November 20 to 22.

On the afternoon of November 20, a closed-door summit with the theme of "New Scenarios, New Models" - a seminar on the analysis of the development situation of the charging and swapping industry was held. Business leaders, top experts, local alliance leaders, and government department leaders who have been deeply involved in the charging and swapping industry for many years gathered together to discuss in depth the three core topics of "vehicle-grid interaction", "county charging facility development" and "high-power charging technology". Before the conference forum on the 21st, the leaders and guests at the meeting toured the exhibition together, visited the latest research results and product display areas in the charging and swapping field, as well as the new energy vehicle exhibition area, and had a lively exchange with the exhibitors.

Responding to climate change and building a new charging and swapping service system

On the morning of November 21, Tan Hongjiang, Deputy Director of the Electricity Department of the National Energy Administration, Zhao Wenjie, Chief Clerk of the Consumption Promotion Department of the Ministry of Commerce, Zhang Bing, Cadre of the Equipment Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Chen Wei, Cadre of the Development Research Center of the State Administration for Market Regulation, Lin Qi, Deputy General Manager of the Innovation Management Department of Guoyin Financial Leasing Co., Ltd., Du Qing, Deputy Director of the Shanxi Provincial Energy Bureau, Fu Bingfeng, Executive Vice President and Secretary General of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers and Chairman of the China Charging Alliance, and Zhang Lin, Chief Representative and General Manager of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (China), and other industry leaders and experts attended the opening ceremony of the conference. The opening ceremony was hosted by Yang Zhongping, Deputy Secretary General of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.

Charging infrastructure is an important guarantee for the development and promotion of new energy vehicles. In recent years, the scale of charging facilities in my country has continued to expand, the service quality has been effectively improved, and the level of intelligence has been rapidly iterated, which has effectively supported the green and low-carbon transformation in the transportation field, and has increasingly played an important role as a node and fulcrum of energy and electricity. Tan Hongjiang said that in order to help build a high-quality power supply infrastructure system and promote the coordination of the new energy vehicle industry and energy and electricity, we should first adhere to government guidance and social promotion to promote the integrated development of transportation and energy; secondly, we should adhere to planning first and moderate advancement to promote the orderly construction of charging infrastructure; thirdly, we should adhere to scientific and technological innovation and standard guidance to promote the advancement of charging technology; finally, we should adhere to the bottom line of safety and service improvement to guide the healthy development of the industry.

As a major traditional energy province in my country, Shanxi Province has resolutely implemented the new energy security strategy, firmly shouldered major missions and tasks, deepened the comprehensive reform pilot of the energy revolution, vigorously cultivated and developed new energy productivity, and accelerated the construction of a new energy system. Du Qing said that the Shanxi Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government have always attached great importance to the construction of charging and swapping infrastructure, continuously improved policy standards, accelerated planning and construction, and built more than 7,400 public charging and swapping stations. Public charging piles have achieved 100% coverage at the city, county and township levels and highway service areas. Over the years, the China Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Promotion Alliance and the Charging and Swapping Branch of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers have carried out a lot of work in promoting industry interconnection, standard setting, policy and industry research, etc. Standing at a new historical node and facing new opportunities and challenges, Fu Bingfeng emphasized that the entire industry needs to adopt a more open mindset and more pragmatic cooperation to promote the industry to achieve a new leap forward and continue to focus on the following key tasks: First, accelerate technological innovation, overcome key technical bottlenecks such as high-power fast charging, wireless charging, and intelligent battery replacement, focus on the industrial application of technological achievements, and enhance the user charging and swapping experience; second, promote standard construction, further improve the full-chain standard system including equipment, interfaces, safety and services, and escort the healthy development of the industry; third, deepen cross-industry collaboration, promote development models such as "vehicle-network interaction", "charging and storage combination", and "vehicle-energy collaboration", and achieve a win-win situation in economic and social benefits; fourth, strengthen international exchanges and cooperation, promote China's charging and swapping technology, standards and models to the world, and share China's experience and solutions.

In order to speed up the filling of the gaps in the consumption and use of new energy vehicles in rural areas, improve the level of green and safe travel for residents, and empower the construction of beautiful villages and rural revitalization, in May 2024, the General Office of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the General Office of the National Development and Reform Commission, the General Office of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, the General Office of the Ministry of Commerce, and the General Office of the National Energy Administration jointly issued the "Notice on Carrying out the 2024 New Energy Vehicle Going to the Countryside Activities" (Industry and Information Technology Department Unicom Installation Letter [2024] No. 158), and entrusted the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers and the China Charging Alliance to organize the "2024 New Energy Vehicle Going to the Countryside Activities". At the opening ceremony of the conference, the "2024 New Energy Vehicle Going to the Countryside Activities-Shanxi Taiyuan Station Launch Ceremony" was officially held.

Since the establishment of the Charging Alliance, the "Annual Development Report of the Charging and Swapping Infrastructure Industry" has been released once a year, mainly including the current status of industry development, policy system, technical standards, business model, operation and maintenance services, safety assurance, etc. The "2023-2024 Charging Infrastructure Industry Development Report" has been completed and officially released at the opening ceremony of this conference.

With the rapid development of the charging infrastructure industry, market competition has become increasingly fierce. Phenomena such as occupied charging spaces, opaque price information, and damaged equipment have frequently occurred, seriously affecting the charging experience of car owners. In particular, phenomena such as false charging have damaged the legitimate rights and interests of car owners. At this conference, the China Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Promotion Alliance, together with the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers and its subsidiary Zhonglian Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd., launched the "China Charging Alliance Charging Verification Platform" to promote the healthy and sustainable development of the industry. As the first charging operation service provider to access the platform, Kaimaisi New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. will simultaneously officially launch charging verification services at more than 1,000 charging outlets across the country.

High-quality development to create a sustainable and beautiful future

At the main forum of the conference held on the morning of November 21, experts and scholars from universities, industry organizations and enterprises shared their experiences and ideas on the theme of building a smart charging and swapping service ecosystem, focusing on the trend of large-scale vehicle-network interaction, the construction of charging and swapping systems at home and abroad, digital service ecology, secure payment ecosystem, and charging platform model innovation, so as to jointly promote the sustainable development of charging and swapping infrastructure construction.
