Apple has always been interested in games, and recently there has been a crazy rumor that Apple has begun poaching Xbox engineers to build its own game console.
In last week's Xbox Two podcast, Windows Central gaming reporter Jez Corden shared some rumors he's heard recently. According to Corden, Apple has been "poaching engineers from Xbox" with the goal of building a gaming console.
IT Home learned that Jez said he had heard the news for some time. He also admitted that the source of the news was not the most credible (no specific details or evidence were given). In addition, even if this was true, he did not know whether Apple had given up the idea.
Apple hasn't announced any plans to build a gaming console, but the company has been stepping up its AR/VR development recently.
Furthermore, when asked who else would like to compete with other console manufacturers like Apple and Microsoft, Corden said he thinks the only company that might want to go head-to-head would be Chinese gaming company Tencent.
It is not certain whether Apple’s game console will be launched, but competition among game companies is a good thing for players.
