According to the latest report from foreign media, some customers in Canada and the United States have been notified by UPS that their AirPods Max will not be delivered because they contain "hazardous materials", and the "abnormal phenomena" described by UPS seem to be limited to Canadian customers.
Users reported that the returns occurred about halfway through the shipping process, with their packages arriving at the UPS center in Ontario, California before being stopped by UPS.
A shipping notice sent by UPS to multiple buyers in Canada said "hazardous materials were found in this package and there were abnormal conditions. We will contact the sender to provide more information. The package will be returned to the sender."
Neither UPS nor Apple has commented on the issue yet. The problem may be related to labeling, and these particular AirPods Max were shipped without the required written warning about the presence of the battery on the label.
