On November 19, a report by market research firm GfK China showed that the average price of domestic mobile phones had risen to 3,480 yuan in the third quarter of 2023. After this year's price increase, the average price of domestic mobile phones is likely to reach the 4,000 yuan mark.
As for the reasons for the price increase, some experts analyzed that part of the reason was the rising costs of raw materials, rising supply chain costs and the continued increase in research and development investment, all of which forced manufacturers to adjust prices to maintain profits.
In this regard, relevant supply chain manufacturers have stated that the prices of mobile phone components will drop sharply in the future, such as memory, which is bound to greatly reduce the pressure on manufacturers.
This has also sparked heated discussions among netizens. After all, the price increase is due to the increase in raw materials. Now that the raw materials are declining, can the corresponding selling price also be reduced? A previous survey showed that 70% of users said they do not accept the price increase of mobile phones, and believe that the cost of price increases should not be passed on to consumers.
Relevant mobile phone manufacturers also stated that the supply chain started to rise in the first two quarters, reached its peak in the third quarter, and will decline in the fourth quarter. Where there is a rise, there must be a fall.
