According to Appleinsider, a new document explores how Apple CEO Tim Cook honed the tech giant into the world's largest company under his "cautious, collaborative and tactical" leadership.

Wall Street and Silicon Valley were concerned about Apple’s future after Jobs’ death in 2011. But nine years later, Apple’s revenue and profits have more than doubled, and the company’s market valuation is greater than the GDP of Canada, Russia or Spain.

These achievements were made under the leadership of Cook, who succeeded Jobs in August 2011. According to foreign media reports, over the past nine years, the technology executive has reformed Apple to make it more in line with his style.

Cook has been described as more methodical and focused on finance and social good than Jobs's radical new commitment to design. While Apple under Cook has a "more relaxed work environment" than Apple under Jobs, employees say Cook is just as "demanding and detail-oriented."

The CEO's attention to detail "caused subordinates to be nervous when they entered the meeting." And the precision Cook demanded "changed the way Apple employees work and think." The foreign media added:

"Today, middle managers screen employees before meeting with Mr. Cook to ensure they are knowledgeable, and new people are advised not to speak." "This protects both the team and him, and you don't waste his time." A middle manager said that if he sensed that someone was not well prepared, he would lose patience and say, "Next."

Cook rarely visits Apple's design studio, where Jobs often went. In a 2012 meeting to review early Apple Watch prototypes, Cook was absent, a source said, an absence that would have been unthinkable under Jobs.

Unlike Jobs, who believed Apple's cash was better spent on research and development, Cook prefers to return cash to investors. In 2013, Cook had a three-hour dinner with Wall Street investor Carl Icahn, which ended with a dessert of Apple logo cookies.

In interviews with the media, Cook's colleagues and acquaintances described him as a "humble workaholic with a singular commitment to Apple." Even long-term colleagues rarely socialize with Cook, and Cook's former assistants also said that Cook does not often attend private social events.

Apple declined to arrange interviews with Mr. Cook or senior executives but “helped arrange calls with four people it said could speak to areas important to Mr. Cook, such as the environment, education and health.”

Perhaps even more evidence of Apple’s transformation is its products, which have largely avoided the kind of market-disrupting gadgets that powered Jobs’s era.

Instead, Apple has taken control of the accessories surrounding the iPhone, including the Apple Watch, which has outsold every other watch in the world, AirPods, which accounted for more than half of all headphone sales in 2019, and services like Apple Music.
