According to foreign media reports, Foxconn Technology has entered the trial production stage of "translucent" lenses for Apple's AR project.
Apple's partners who make the iPhone have moved from the prototype stage to trial production of key components. In the past few months, Bloomberg and the Information have been competing to report on Apple's plans for virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR).
It is believed to be some time before Apple launches a product to compete with Facebook's Oculus Quest. Meanwhile, Apple CEO Tim Cook has made comments saying he sees huge opportunities in the field of augmented reality (AR).
Microsoft's HoloLens is a relatively large but fully independent AR headset compared to Apple's VR glasses, but Apple has also encountered some problems with the display technology.
According to The Information, Apple and its Foxconn manufacturer have spent three years developing AR optical lenses, although it is still unclear what devices the AR optical lenses developed by Apple will be used for and how long it will take for the device to be used in real commercial applications.
