Hacker who threatened Apple pleads guilty, sentenced to 300 hours of unpaid labor

      According to the report, according to the public information of the UK National Crime Agency (NCA), on March 12, 2017, Kerem Albayrak sent an email to Apple's security team, claiming that he had obtained many users' iCloud accounts and planned to sell them online; for this, he asked Apple to pay $75,000 in cryptocurrency or $1,000 in iTunes gift cards, otherwise he would sell these accounts. A week later, Kerem Albayrak posted a video on YouTube, showing that he could access other people's iCloud accounts at will.

　　On March 21 of the same year, Kerem Albayrak sent another email to Apple's security team. This time he changed his demands and asked Apple to pay $100,000, otherwise he would hack into 250 million iCloud accounts and reset their iPhones and other devices.

　　Faced with the extortion, Apple refused to compromise and reported the case to the relevant authorities from the beginning. On March 28, 2017, Kerem Albayrak was arrested by the British police. The NCA stated that there was no evidence that he had ever hacked Apple's iCloud devices.

　　Two years later, on December 21, 2019, Kerem Albayrak pleaded guilty and was sentenced.
