Jiwei.com News (Text/Xi Nongluo) Recently, Irish patent aggregation company Solas OLED claimed that multiple Apple devices infringed its patents and filed a lawsuit in the Western District Court of Texas.
The infringing devices include the MacBook Pro with Touch Bar and the iPhone product line, specifically the iPhone X model.
Apple itself is not responsible for production, so why Solas OLED did not file a lawsuit against the direct manufacturer of OLED screens, or the assembly of OLED screens such as Foxconn, but only sued Apple, the reason is unknown. It is reported that Apple Insider has not been able to find any actions taken by Solas OLED against suppliers or manufacturers, and has sent a letter to the company to inquire about the details of this lawsuit, but has not received a reply yet.
The patent description claimed by Solas OLED shows that it is indeed related to the core of OLED architecture. However, display manufacturing giants also have a large number of similar patents.
In addition, there are reports that if the court finds that Apple has infringed its rights, Solas OLED will most likely file an injunction with the court and demand compensation from Apple.
