According to news on February 29, MediaTek recently quietly released the Helio G91 chipset, which is an upgraded version of the Helio G88 it launched three years ago. This new SoC that only supports 4G networks is designed to improve the performance and functionality of entry-level smartphones. It supports 90Hz FHD+ display and greatly improves camera capabilities. It supports up to 108MP main camera, which is a significant improvement compared to the 64MP supported by the previous generation. .
It is understood that the Helio G91 uses an eight-core CPU configuration, including two Arm Cortex-A75 cores clocked at up to 2.0GHz for processing intensive tasks, and six Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.8GHz for Improve energy efficiency. In terms of graphics, the processor integrates an ARM Mali-G52 MC2 GPU with a main frequency of 1.0GHz. In addition, the chipset also supports up to 8GB LPDDR4x memory and eMMC 5.1 storage.
One of the highlights of the Helio G91 is its improved camera support, with the chipset supporting the use of a 108MP sensor. In addition, thanks to 2.0um pixel binning technology, it can improve the effect of low-light photography and provide lossless portrait photos with richer details. MediaTek has also added a series of hardware accelerators to support advanced camera functions such as dual-camera portrait mode, electronic image stabilization (EIS), and rolling shutter compensation (RSC).
Helio G91 also integrates MediaTek's HyperEngine gaming engine, which optimizes the performance of the CPU, GPU and memory based on factors such as real-time power consumption, temperature and gameplay, ensuring sustained performance and a smoother gaming experience. In addition, the chipset also supports dual-SIM VoLTE and Wi-Fi 5.
Helio G91 also integrates an inertial navigation engine, which can accurately position in areas without GPS signals, and supports a voice wake-up function, which facilitates hands-free control and improves safety and convenience.
