September 5, 2024 – Mouser Electronics, the industry’s leading New Product Introduction (NPI) distributor of the broadest selection of semiconductors and electronic components™, is now shipping the RA8M1 Voice Kit, or VK-RA8M1, from Renesas Electronics. With the VK-RA8M1 Voice Kit, developers can build systems using a simple voice command interface without extensive programming experience, deep expertise, or network connectivity. The VK-RA8M1 Voice Kit addresses the need for voice recognition in areas such as home automation, industrial automation, consumer electronics, and healthcare applications.
The Renesas Electronics VK-RA8M1 Voice Kit provides a scalable and easy-to-use hardware platform for voice user interface (VUI) solutions based on the RA8M1 series 32-bit MCU. The voice kit supports real-time control and multi-language commands, which are critical for applications such as smart speakers. Multiple analog and digital microphones ensure high-precision voice recognition while improving voice capture and reducing noise. The VK-RA8M1 Voice Kit performs all voice recognition operations offline, alleviating engineers' concerns about privacy leaks and latency caused by using the cloud.
The VK-RA8M1 Voice Kit includes a cloud-based Natural Language Understanding (NLU) development tool provided by Cyberon, a Renesas ecosystem partner. Leveraging the powerful RA8M1 MCU, users can create enhanced solutions to recognize and execute voice commands, while the NLU model supports the development of a complete end-to-end AI and machine learning voice solution. The VK-RA8M1 kit supports more than 44 languages and includes voice anti-spoofing application examples.
