November 12, 2024 - ON Semiconductor (onsemi) announced the launch of the Treo platform, an analog and mixed-signal platform built on advanced 65nm node BCD (Bipolar-CMOS-DMOS) process technology . The platform lays a strong foundation for ON Semiconductor's extensive power and sensing solutions, including high-performance and low-power sensing, efficient power management, and dedicated communication devices. With this scalable single solution, customers can simplify and accelerate product development for existing applications and quickly seize emerging market opportunities.
The increasing demand for electricity in today's automotive, industrial and AI data center markets, coupled with stricter environmental regulations, has prompted these industries to improve energy efficiency and demand higher performance and functionality in terminal applications. In addition, low-power devices such as medical wearables are becoming more complex and require more intelligence and higher energy efficiency to improve personal care and reduce device costs. This requires highly integrated, advanced power and sensing solutions that can achieve higher energy efficiency across the entire power range while providing greater intelligence.

By integrating multiple functions into a single compact chip, the platform is able to halve the required space and extend battery life to weeks. This means that the entire CGM device is smaller and more comfortable to wear, while reducing the number of replacements to save medical costs.

ON Semiconductor is now sampling its initial product line based on the Treo platform, including voltage converters, ultra-low power AFEs, LDOs, ultrasonic sensors, multi-phase controllers, and single-pair Ethernet controllers. By 2025, ON Semiconductor will offer a broader product line, adding more system-level value, including: high-performance sensors, DC-DC converters, automotive LED drivers, electrical safety ICs, connectivity products, and more.
