In order to optimize the surface condition of the material, the following steps should be followed for running-in:
When installing, use carburetor cleaner to spray the surface of the brake disc, because the surface of the new disc has anti-rust oil, and the old disc is also easy to get oily during the removal process. After installing the brake pads, you must step on the brake pedal several times before starting to ensure that the excessive gap caused by installation is completely eliminated.
1. Find a place with good road conditions and few cars to start running-in.
2. Accelerate to 60 km/h, then lightly apply the brakes with moderate force to reduce the vehicle speed to approximately 10 km/h.
3. Release the brakes and drive for a few kilometers to allow the brake pads and plates to cool down slightly.
4. Repeat steps 2-4 above at least 10 times.
5. Note that it is strictly forbidden to use the continuous brake pad running-in method, that is, the left foot brake running-in method.
6. After running-in, the brake pads still need to go through a running-in period of several hundred kilometers with the brake discs to achieve optimal performance. At this time, you must drive carefully to prevent accidents.
7. After the running-in period, you must still drive carefully to prevent accidents, especially rear-end collisions.
8. Finally, a reminder: the improvement in braking performance is relative, not absolute, and speeding is strongly opposed.
