Recently, Intel successfully held the "2023 Intel China Digital Transportation Ecosystem Summit" during the 29th World Congress on Intelligent Transportation Systems , aiming to share cases and experiences in urban and road digital construction, and in-depth discussions on cutting-edge digital technologies in the fields of highways, rail transit, road construction and professional operations.
The summit attracted many experts and leaders from road construction management departments, research institutions, professional service companies and Intel to focus on new developments in the field of digital transportation and share cutting-edge views and insights to promote the transformation of digital camp construction and road construction process systems. Yu Bingyan, deputy director of the Internet of Vehicles and Smart Transportation Research Department of the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, pointed out that the Internet of Vehicles is becoming a "new infrastructure" that integrates information communication with automobiles, transportation, etc., especially the new 5G+ Internet of Vehicles applications have put forward new requirements for network performance. The construction of standardized interfaces is the core foundation for equipment interconnection, unified scale management and various Internet of Vehicles applications.
Guo Wei, general manager of Intel's China IoT and Channel Data Center Division, said that China's huge transportation demand and complex and diverse transportation network have brought unlimited market opportunities for digital transportation. Intel will continue to deepen its presence in the local market and work with partners to develop this market, adhering to the concept of in-depth industry cooperation and building an open ecosystem, and contributing multi-faceted ecological value to the characteristics of the Chinese market and user needs.
At the summit, Intel shared its latest transportation product strategy, which is to make full use of video analysis and artificial intelligence technology to accelerate the transformation of digital transportation and urban infrastructure. The strategy sorts out eight important scenarios, covering smart ETC, holographic transportation systems, smart light poles, smart parking, automatic ticket vending and ticket checking systems, forward target detection, video recording and processing, and station management. These scenarios can not only cover the market for digitalization of road and rail infrastructure to the greatest extent and seize the policy and market trends, but also highly fit Intel's native technology and product roadmap. This series of solutions is designed to meet the different needs of various traffic scenarios and requires computing power to be deployed in different locations to ensure efficient and reliable traffic management and services.
To this end, Intel has created a modular traffic control machine product portfolio that covers end-to-end digital transportation transformation, including road test all-in-one machines and intersection edge solutions for holographic roads, as well as applications in digital rail transit equipment. Through industrial-grade or embedded processors, Intel's digital traffic control machine has a highly reliable system design to ensure excellent performance in various traffic scenarios. Rich I/O high-speed interfaces meet diverse data transmission needs, and the scalable CPU+iGPU provides users with excellent computing power. In addition, Intel also focuses on open source software reference implementation solutions, and optimizes artificial intelligence algorithms by adopting advanced technologies such as OpenVINO™ and Intel® oneAPI, thereby improving the performance and intelligence level of traffic control machines. It is worth noting that its high-performance SoC (system chip) not only reduces power consumption, but also provides better cost performance, making this product portfolio an indispensable core component in the field of digital transportation.
In recent years, the continuous development of digital transportation and smart transportation is promoting the integration of transportation road construction and digital infrastructure. Intel will continue to actively participate in the exploration of digital construction of cities and roads, help the application of advanced technologies in the field of road construction, accelerate the implementation of smart transportation, and contribute to the realization of strategic goals such as a strong transportation country and "China on Rails".
