315 is coming, WeChat released the "2017 Brand Protection Report": more than 35,000 counterfeit complaints have been handled
Leifeng.com reported that this year's 315 party is coming up. Every year, some technology companies will be on the list, such as Alibaba and Ele.me last year. The theme of this year's party is "Online Integrity Consumption without Worries", and perhaps some companies' public relations will have trouble sleeping. WeChat prepared for the rainy day and released the "2017 WeChat Brand Protection Report" on March 13, announcing the platform's anti-counterfeiting report: the platform has handled more than 35,000 complaints about counterfeit goods. The following is the full report.
With the continuous increase of WeChat functions and the increasing number of WeChat users, a small number of users use WeChat to send information about counterfeit goods. To this end, WeChat officially launched a brand protection platform in March 2016. Brands connected to the platform can identify whether the product is counterfeit or inferior based on clues reported by users.
As of early March 2017, the WeChat brand protection platform:
-
More than 350 brands have successfully connected;
-
Handled more than 35,000 infringement notices;
-
After verification, WeChat removed the infringing information and took action against 32,000+ WeChat personal accounts.
(Some brands have been connected, ranked in no particular order)
Connect users with brands that have the ability to detect counterfeits
WeChat Brand Protection Platform (click to enter) connects the counterfeit sales information reported by users with brands (i.e. trademark owners) that have the ability to identify counterfeits, and pushes the reported information submitted by users to the connected brands. The platform imposes penalties on the counterfeit sales accounts based on the brand's identification feedback.
Strategies to combat counterfeiting are constantly being optimized
Since the launch of the WeChat brand protection platform, while inviting high-quality brands to join, it has also been continuously optimizing and improving the system, launching new functions and methods, strengthening cooperation and collaboration with brands, and jointly combating the use of personal WeChat accounts to engage in infringing and counterfeit sales.
As an instant messaging tool and social platform, WeChat has been committed to providing users with a green and healthy communication environment. In order to protect the legitimate rights and interests of users, we resolutely crack down on all kinds of illegal and irregular content and behaviors. At the same time, we also call on the majority of users not to buy counterfeit and shoddy goods, to improve their awareness of anti-fraud and anti-scam, and to protect their own legitimate rights and interests.
In addition, if you encounter payment fraud while using WeChat, please contact the police as soon as possible. For accounts suspected of fraud, you can use the complaint function of the WeChat client to submit feedback. We will verify and confirm and deal with the illegal accounts.
