Whenever I see boards designed by foreign masters, I always say why their silk screen printing is so beautiful, while my own boards are very empty, with just a few simple silk screen prints. Although performance is the most important, this is a society that values appearance after all!

Originally, the logo was imported using some scripts that come with the PCB software, such as the PCB Logo Creator script that comes with the AD software, and the skill function of the Allegro software, but these software all require the image to be processed into a bitmap bmp format first. The former is time-consuming to import, and the imported elements will cause a lot of lag, and the elements are scattered. After trying it, it is still relatively inefficient, and some subsequent adjustments to the size and angle are even more troublesome.

The method recommended in this article is to use font software. By creating a new set of fonts, you can modify some of the text into a logo image. When you use the font to enter the corresponding text, it will be displayed as the corresponding logo. First, you need to download the font software Font Creator Program. After installation, you can create a new font project, or you can directly find an existing font and copy it. It is best not to change the commonly used fonts. Then modify it on it, which will be faster. We choose to modify some common texts such as 0~9 and 26 English letters. Here, they are case-sensitive, and even bold and italic are distinguished separately.

Double-click the corresponding text to enter the editing interface, right-click to import the image, and select the Logo image we prepared. The format cannot be png. Set the threshold, smoothing and other properties according to the image, and check the effect on the right in real time. For particularly large or small images, you can pre-adjust the size ratio.

After clicking Generate, you can see that the Logo has been imported. Adjust the size, delete the original text, close the window, and continue to modify the next text.

Pay attention to the Base line and CapHeight, and don't set the position and size too far.

After editing is completed, export the font file and select TrueType as the format.

Then install it into the system.

At this point, the font has been completed. Place the text on the silkscreen layer in the PCB software, select TrueType font for the text format, then enter, for example, 0, adjust the corresponding Height size, and click OK to place it.

You can also perform subsequent operations such as rotation and mirroring. The same principle applies to other software such as Allegro, as long as the font is installed in the system.

If you can't remember the correspondence between so many logos and texts, create a new Excel file or Word file, enter the corresponding text in the first row using a common font, copy it to the second row, and then change the font of the second row to the font we just created. This way, there will be a one-to-one correspondence, which makes it easy to find the correspondence immediately when placing it.
