According to media reports, Huawei's "Hongmeng Operating System" (HarmonyOS) was officially released on June 2. Wang Chenglu, President of Huawei's Consumer Business Software Department, also responded to many questions that everyone is concerned about HarmonyOS.
Regarding the most intuitive experience after upgrading to HarmonyOS, Wang Chenglu pointed out that if a mobile phone has been upgraded to HarmonyOS, even if it has been used for several years, the memory is full, and the system has begun to jam, it will be very smooth, even like a new machine. This is what consumers can feel most intuitively.
Secondly, HarmonyOS allows consumers to enjoy a cross-device experience, which is a very big change, because the HarmonyOS experience relies on multiple devices. You can try it with a mobile phone and a PC, a mobile phone and a Pad, a Pad and a PC, a watch and a Pad. This kind of experience cannot be experienced with a single device.
As for other mobile phone manufacturers who have not yet made a clear statement that they will use HarmonyOS and are worried that Huawei is both an "athlete" and a "referee", Wang Chenglu also responded.
Wang Chenglu pointed out that Huawei also took back codes from the open source community and added its own product features to make its products. Huawei has donated all of the core infrastructure of HarmonyOS to the Open Atom Open Source Foundation.
Therefore, all manufacturers can equally obtain code from the Open Atom Open Source Foundation, and can also make their own products according to their own business needs. So everyone does not need to worry too much, and ultimately whether to do it or not is their own business choice.
Regarding the progress of HarmonyOS's ecosystem construction, Wang Chenglu said that there are currently nearly 500,000 pure HarmonyOS developers, and this year's goal is to exceed 1.2 million.
In addition, hardware manufacturers already have many partners and have released many products. More manufacturers are joining the Hongmeng camp to make their own devices.
As for which aspect of HarmonyOS's ecological construction will have a bigger market in the future, Wang Chenglu said that he would rather see a complete ecosystem rather than a single device. He would rather put it into a certain scenario than talk about cars, mobile phones and other devices in isolation.
For example, in a driving scenario, can the mobile phone, watch, car computer, and even the sensors inside the car work better together, just like there is always a professional coach by your side to teach you good driving habits during the driving process? This is the real goal of HarmonyOS.
