Apple TV+ free trial extended until July 2021

       If you're one of those who signed up for Apple's lengthy one-year free trial of Apple TV+, you'll be happy to hear today that the company has extended the length of that trial... yes, again. With this extension, users who were set to lose their free trial in the coming weeks will instead get a few extra months of free use.

　　Apple TV+ is the company's streaming service. When it first launched, Apple offered an extra-long free trial of one year to those who purchased an Apple device. Back in October 2020, it was announced that the free trial would be extended to February 2021, which means that the first wave of users are now a few weeks away from paying to continue watching.

　　This time, Apple is extending the free trial period until July 2021. The extension will apply to users on a free trial whose trial will expire at some point before June. Assuming you haven't canceled the service at the end of the expected trial period, you can watch it for free until the summer.

　　If you're one of those free trial users, you'll get details about the extension in an email from Apple soon. Some users who've already started paying can also expect to see their credits for those months refunded.

　　The move isn’t entirely surprising — Apple TV+ is still a new kid on the block in a market dominated by big competitors, and while it’s cheap at $4.99/month, many critics have noted that it doesn’t yet have the content to compete with the likes of Netflix. The pandemic and its impact on movie and TV show production have made things even trickier.
