MWC: 5G+MEC digital twins take you into a new connected world

On February 23, 2021 MWC Shanghai kicked off. As one of the features of this year's MWC Shanghai, GSMA, China Telecom and its subsidiary Haobai Holdings Co., Ltd. jointly created the world's first MWC mixed reality exhibition area in the 5G Innovation Zone.

Based on China Telecom's 5G cloud XR digital twin platform, through the three-dimensional visual digital twin of the super-large scene of the exhibition hall, high-precision map collection and reconstruction are provided to form a basic point cloud environment. Visitors can use mobile phones, tablets and AR glasses to experience the integration and interaction between online virtual elements and offline physical exhibition halls in real time.

In the AR full-space display area, you can not only have an overview of the entire scene of the 5G innovation zone, and understand the distribution of the six major themes in the exhibition area, including moving goodness to beauty, ultra-fast 5G, innovative enterprises, industry applications, extended reality, and the Bloom Cup 5G application, but also grab AR red envelopes, take photos and interact on the spot. At the Station space site, the corresponding AR logo of each exhibitor will be presented above the exhibition. As a space site in the entire AR virtual-real fusion space, it also attracted many visitors.

At the same time, visitors can use Navigation AR smart navigation + map to set up navigation routes according to pre-planned themes in the virtual space. Based on precise map positioning and the highlighted guidance instructions that pop up on the terminal, they can intuitively follow the guidance instructions to visit the corresponding booths.

In order to increase the sense of science and technology on site, a flying vehicle with science and technology elements was designed on site, flying through the air on the road of the venue, interacting with space stations, cloud transmitters, and information transmission interactive AR space experience. In addition, the Space AD ​​space advertising screen plays the on-site exhibitor advertising videos in real time, allowing visitors to obtain corporate information in the first place.
