Recently, Shenzhen issued the "Implementation Opinions on Accelerating the Construction of New Infrastructure (2020-2025)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Implementation Opinions"). On July 21, the Shenzhen Municipal Government Information Office held a press conference to introduce the overall situation and development advantages of new infrastructure and interpreted the "Implementation Opinions".
The press conference was hosted by Wang Chuhong, Deputy Director of the Publicity Department of the Municipal Party Committee and Director of the Municipal Government Information Office. Wu You, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shenzhen Municipal Government, Zeng Jianpeng, Deputy Director of the Municipal Development and Reform Commission, Zhong Hai, Deputy Director of the Municipal Science and Technology Innovation Commission, and Xu Zhibin, Deputy Director of the Municipal Industry and Information Technology Bureau, attended the press conference and answered questions from reporters.
Wu You, deputy secretary-general of the Shenzhen Municipal Government, said that as a city known for "technology" and "innovation", Shenzhen must take the lead in the construction of new infrastructure and be at the forefront of the country. At present, Shenzhen has made a series of achievements in some areas of new infrastructure, including significant results in the construction of 5G commercialization process, and 5G network coverage will be achieved in the whole city in August; broadband popularization and fiber-to-the-home construction are in the international leading echelon, with a fixed broadband population penetration rate of 51.5% and fiber-optic access users accounting for 94.2%.
In addition, Shenzhen's construction and development levels in the fields of artificial intelligence, industrial Internet, intelligent connected vehicles, major scientific and technological infrastructure, etc. also remain at the forefront of the country.
