Previously, the UK decided to allow Huawei to participate in its 5G construction "to a limited extent" and limit its participation to less than 35%. In addition, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson promised to exclude Huawei from core equipment.
However, according to the latest news from Taiwan media Central News Agency, U.S. Republican Senator Tom Cotton warned today that if the British government insists on allowing Huawei to participate in the construction of 5G networks, the United States may redeploy its air force in the UK.
Specifically, Cotton said that the US F-35 fighter jets stationed in the UK are equipped with precision-guided weapons. If the UK uses Huawei equipment, it may affect the supply and deployment of these weapons.
In addition, Cotton stressed that senior US officials now realize that US troops will face operational security risks in the UK. British MPs should not misunderstand the situation and think that the US redeployment of troops is just a bluff.
