On April 10, Xinhuanet and CCID Consulting jointly released a research report on the ICT field of "new infrastructure", covering three major areas: 5G communications, artificial intelligence and industrial big data.
Among them, the "2020 China 5G Communication Industry Innovation and Investment Trends" report conducted a comprehensive assessment of 5G development and investment trend analysis.
The report shows that Beijing, Guangdong, Shanghai, Jiangsu and Zhejiang rank in the top five in terms of the number of 5G communication companies. Wuhan, as a leader in China's optical communication field, has a relatively advanced development in the 5G communication industry; Chengdu, as the city with the best communication industry foundation in the southwest region, follows closely behind.
From 2020 to 2025, China's 5G communication industry will usher in explosive growth. The implementation of standards, the upgrading of terminal products and more mature scenario applications will bring economic growth to the whole society. It is estimated that in 2025, the scale of China's 5G communication market will reach 3.8 trillion yuan, with an average annual compound growth rate of 30.8% over the five years.
In terms of basic components, the report shows that the revenue of companies at the 5G basic component level is stable, with 5G optical fiber cables and radio frequency devices accounting for more than two-thirds. There is a large gap in the size of my country's 5G communication basic component companies; judging from the current situation of Chinese operators' procurement of main equipment, the world's top five equipment manufacturers have all contributed.
When interpreting the report, Sun Huifeng, president of CCID Consulting Co., Ltd., said that "new infrastructure" is an important means to connect innovative factors and is the foundation for building future industrial capabilities. It will accelerate the integration of industrial productivity and information productivity and give birth to a new form of digital economy industry.
He introduced that in 2020, 5G upstream and downstream procurement in the "new infrastructure" will reach 500 billion yuan, and the rapid development of 5G technology is driving the upgrading of the entire industry chain including communications, electronic components, chips, and terminal applications; in the next three years, China's overall industry scale in big data will maintain a 20% growth rate, forming a trillion-level market, and the integration of infrastructure layer, data service layer and application layer will continue to improve; artificial intelligence is an important engine to promote high-quality economic development, and the application market in video surveillance is huge. The demand for edge intelligence will drive the rapid development of dedicated artificial intelligence chips.
