The core industrial chain of smart cars will be a battleground in the era of smart cars 2.0.

Since the beginning of this year, China's automobile industry has continued to advance rapidly in the fields of electrification and intelligence. Monitoring data from Gaogong Intelligent Automobile Research Institute shows that from January to September this year, the delivery of new energy passenger vehicles in the Chinese market (excluding imports and exports) achieved a year-on-year growth of 43.76%, of which the contribution of domestic brands still accounted for as high as 86.95%.

In terms of intelligence, from January to September, the delivery of domestically produced passenger cars with standard connected cockpit + intelligent driving (L2 and above) reached 4.1573 million units, accounting for 64.73% of the overall market delivery share (domestic/joint venture combined), among which the contribution of domestically produced new energy vehicles reached 75.42%.

The continued explosion in demand for new energy vehicles, especially smart electric vehicles, in China has also led to the release of huge incremental space in the core hardware (including hardware and software integrated solutions) of the related industry chain.

At the same time, technological changes and upgraded demands for automotive electrification and intelligence have led to a continued increase in the popularity of key core areas including automotive-grade chip domain controller integration, human-computer interaction upgrades, and intelligent chassis.

For example, in the field of automotive chips, driven by intelligence and electrification, the number of semiconductor devices in each car will increase from the current 800 to more than 1,100. In particular, the intelligent upgrade is also rapidly generating demand for high-performance AI chips with high computing power and large storage. High-performance automotive chips have also become a battleground. Currently, major OEMs have also started self-research or investment in the field of automotive chips, and more funds have begun to flow into the automotive chip industry.

At the same time, the automotive chassis industry is brewing a new intelligent technology revolution and market change. Following the launch of Huawei Tuling chassis, Geely AI digital chassis, Zhiji Lingxi digital chassis and other automotive chassis, more domestic automakers are deeply investing in the intelligent chassis track.

In the second half of smart electrification, the core industry chain has entered a new stage of technology upgrade, application iteration and demand upgrade, and the market is also entering a parallel development cycle of domestic upgrade + Sino-foreign cooperation. This means that supply chain companies need to pay close attention to industry and market trends and step on the right outlet.

On November 21, 2024, the "2024 Smart Car Industry Chain "Hard Technology" Trend Summit" hosted by Gaogong Intelligent Automobile and co-organized by Taicang Science and Technology Investment Promotion Co., Ltd. will be grandly opened in Taicang City, Jiangsu Province.

This summit will be themed "Innovation and Vitality, Asking for Taicang", focusing on the "hard technology" trends of core industrial chains such as chips, interactive upgrades, cross-domain (domain control), and intelligent chassis.

As an important base for my country's automotive parts industry, Taicang has built a very complete automotive electronics and parts industry ecosystem and cluster.

Data shows that Taicang has gathered more than 700 upstream and downstream auto parts supporting enterprises, and 70% of auto parts can be
To achieve supporting functions, in addition to body structural parts, exterior parts, interior parts, wiring harnesses, etc., it also covers core areas such as power systems, chassis systems, and electronic and electrical systems.

Under the trend of intelligent electrification of automobiles in my country, Taicang has also focused on building key industrial chains such as electric drive systems, battery electronic control systems, and intelligent network core components. It has further issued the "Taicang Automotive Electronics and Automotive Parts Industry Innovation Cluster 2025 Action Plan", and will continue to focus on key industrial chain links such as new energy vehicles, intelligent networking, and automotive electronics. It will fully leverage the advantages of the original automotive industry chain ecology and take advantage of the powerful momentum of the current automotive electric and intelligent transformation to continuously promote innovation and upgrading of the automotive industry chain.

Among the list of auto industry chain companies in Taicang, there are many world-renowned auto parts giants such as BorgWarner, Schaeffler, Brose, and United Automotive Electronics. At the conference, representatives of major outstanding auto parts companies will also have in-depth discussions and exchanges with the guests.

This summit will have three special theme sessions: "Core Trends and New Changes in Smart Cars", "New Cycle and New Trends in Domain Control", and "Smart Chassis, Helping to Upgrade Experience".

In the special session "Core Trends and New Changes in Smart Cars", there will be an in-depth discussion on the upgrade trends and changes of chip platforms under the trends of vehicle electronic and electrical architecture upgrades, cross-domain integration, and AI big model empowerment.

Another major trend in the era of vehicle intelligence 2.0 is cross-domain integration. The process from cabin-parking integration to cabin-driver integration is accelerating. 2025 will be the first year for the implementation of cross-domain integration. The new generation of cross-domain integration architecture has brought new challenges to chips, operating systems, software architecture, and hardware integration. Especially in the current melee situation, how to define the business boundary domain cooperation ecology and obtain greater market opportunities... In the second special session, the focus will be on the above trends and market opportunities and challenges and other core issues.

Smart chassis will become an important part of the user experience of smart electric vehicles, ushering in a smart upgrade cycle. Fully wire-controlled chassis, integration and coordination within the chassis domain, and the integration of intelligent driving and chassis domains have become new focuses of the industry.

What kind of intelligent travel changes will the digital intelligent chassis bring? What new opportunities and challenges will chassis domain control integration bring? What changes will the integration of chassis and intelligent driving domain bring? These topics will also be discussed in the third special session.

It is worth mentioning that at the opening ceremony of the conference, Gaogong Intelligent Automobile Research Institute will release the "Intelligent Automobile Industry Chain Trend Report" for the first time, including in-depth analysis of chips, domain control, chassis pre-installed data and the industry chain, which will provide important reference for the next step of technology product planning, market layout and commercial operations of upstream and downstream core industry chain companies.

In addition, that evening, Gaogong Intelligent Automobile Research Institute will also award the "2024 TOP50 Intelligent Automobile Hard Technology Innovation Award", so stay tuned.
