Intel NUC 12 Performance Edition Kit is launched, equipped with its own Ruixuan A series graphics card for the first time
On September 19, 2022, Intel announced the launch of the Intel® NUC 12 Performance Edition Mini PC and Kit (codenamed Serpent Canyon). This compact mini PC is designed for gamers and content creators, and is equipped with Intel A770M graphics in a compact host. The new NUC is equipped with the new 12th generation Intel® Core™ processor, and it is also the first product in the series to be equipped with Intel A770M A-series graphics.
“The Intel NUC 12 Performance Edition is one of the most exciting NUCs Intel has ever created because it combines an Intel processor and discrete graphics together for the first time,” said Brian McCarson, vice president and general manager of Intel’s NUC business unit. “This small system delivers powerful performance for content creation and gaming, with all the I/O you’d expect from a larger system. What’s more, with support for powerful technologies like Intel® Hardware Thread Scheduler and Intel® Deep Link, this NUC is perfect for users who want to create and play games in a true small form factor.”
Why it matters: The Intel A770M graphics card is equipped with 16GB of GDDR6 video memory and is built on a new microarchitecture that is optimized for gaming experience and AI-powered image quality enhancement, real-time ray tracing, and full support for the latest visual technologies such as DirectX 12 Ultimate, bringing a leap in gaming performance.
Combining Intel Sharp™ Graphics with the 12th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-12700H Mobile Processor based on Intel's high-performance hybrid architecture, the NUC 12 Performance Edition Mini PC Kit provides the powerful performance and all the innovative features users need in an ultra-compact 2.5L host.
The NUC 12 Performance Edition mini computer brings Intel Deep Link technology to the desktop for the first time, enabling the CPU and GPU to work seamlessly together to improve performance across a variety of workloads.
Additional features include:
• Support up to 64GB dual-channel DDR4 memory
• Support for 3 M.2 PCIe slots, including 2 Gen 4 NVMe slots
• Supports 2 Thunderbolt™ 4 ports and 6 USB 3.2 Gen2 ports (Type-A)
• High-speed connectivity with Intel i225-LM 2.5Gbps Ethernet, Intel® Killer™ Wi-Fi 6E AX1690i, and Bluetooth® 5.2
• HDMI 2.1 TMDS-compatible port (up to 4K60)
• Supports 2 DisplayPort 2.0 (1.4 certified) ports
Availability: The new Intel NUC 12 Performance Edition mini PC and kits are expected to be available in late September, with prices ranging from $1,180 to $1,350, depending on the configuration. The kits will allow users to customize memory, storage and operating system to meet their needs. Fully equipped desktop systems will also be available through retailers and system integrators later.
