HOLTEK launches BS83xxxA series of new generation Flash touch MCU
Holtek has launched a new generation of Flash touch MCU BS83xxxA, which not only retains the advantages of the previous generation, but also saves more power, has a higher update rate for touch detection, and has better anti-interference ability. In the product development stage, it also provides OCDS EV and a new Touch Key development platform, which is simple to use and can quickly develop products.
The new generation of BS83xxxA family has 4 chips, BS83B16A, BS83B12A, BS83B08A and BS83A04A, which support 16, 12, 8 and 4 touch buttons respectively. Each model is available in -3 and -4 versions. The -3 version has a fixed LVR of 2.55V and can be applied to AC products such as juicers, range hoods, electric pressure cookers, disinfection cabinets, smart refrigerators, etc. The -4 version has a fixed LVR of 2.1V and can be applied to products such as touch remote controls. In addition, except for BS83A04A, BS83B08A/12A/16A all support SPI/I2C interface and can be used as a master IC or paired with a master MCU to be responsible for touch button detection only.
This product has the same high noise immunity as other 8-bit MCUs from Holtek, as well as watchdog and LVR functions to enhance the MCU's ability to prevent crashes. BS83A04A-3/BS83A04A-4 provides 10MSOP packages, BS83B08A-3/BS83B08A-4 provides 16-pin NSOP and SSOP packages, BS83B12A-3/BS83B12A-4 provides 20-pin SOP and SSOP packages, and BS83B16A-3/BS83B16A-4 provides 24-pin SOP and SSOP packages.
HOLTEK launches BS84xxxA-3 series of new generation Flash touch MCU
Holtek has launched the new generation of BS84xxxA-3 series of Flash touch MCUs with built-in 8-channel 12-bit ADC. There are two devices in this series, BS84B08A-3 and BS84C12A-3, which support 8 and 12 touch keys respectively. They can be used in applications such as temperature or other voltage signal measurement, such as temperature-controlled electric tea kettles, electric ceramic stoves, wine cabinets, disinfection cabinets, refrigerators, electric ovens, air-conditioning controllers, electric lunch boxes, smoke-sensing range hoods, heating tables and other products. In addition, BS84B08A-3 and BS84C12A-3 both support SPI and I2C interfaces, and can be used as master ICs or in conjunction with master MCUs to specifically detect touch keys and measure temperature or voltage signals.

It also provides OCDS EV and Touch Key development platforms, which are easy to set up and can lower the threshold for product development. This series offers a variety of packages to choose from, including 16NSOP/SSOP, 20SOP/SSOP and 24SOP/SSOP for BS84B08A-3 and 20SOP/SSOP, 24SOP/SSOP and 28SOP/SSOP for BS84C12A-3.
HOLTEK HT66FM5230 DC inverter BLDC dedicated MCU
Holtek has launched the DC-FAN Flash version of the MCU HT66FM5230 for single-phase/three-phase brushless DC motor control. The HT66FM5230 supports three-phase BLDC motor applications and single-phase BLDC motor applications. The control solution can fully support square wave and sine wave solutions, of which square wave control can support Hall Sensor and Hall Sensor-less solutions. It is equipped with 3 pairs of 10-bit PWM pulse width modulation control outputs, with complementary, dead time PWM outputs, and Polarity IO polarity adjustment. In view of the fact that the control of brushless DC motors requires a feedback signal to detect over-current and over-voltage protection mechanisms, the HT66FM5230 integrates the OCP circuit with the integrated use of ADC to control the smooth operation of the motor and achieve the function of protecting the DC motor.
The HT66FM5230 has 2Kx16 Flash Program ROM, 256 Byte Data RAM, 32 Byte Data EEPROM, an operating voltage of 4.5V~5.5V, a system frequency of 20MHz, a built-in precision RC Oscillator (HIRC), a built-in 6-channel 10-bit fast ADC, a 10-bit STM Timer that can be used for applications such as PWM speed control interface, a 10-bit CTM Timer and a 16-bit CTM Timer, a 16-bit CAPTURE Timer that can be used for constant speed loop monitoring, a PWM Timer that can be used for motor control 6-channel PWM current modulation (supporting 1 PWM Period and 3 PWM Duty), an I2C communication interface, LVD and LVR are used to detect system voltage. If the system voltage is lower than the LVR value, the system will reset to avoid the unstable state that may be caused by the system operating voltage being lower than the operating voltage. An OCP circuit is used for motor protection, and 3 built-in comparators can support square wave Sensorless control.
The HT66FM5230 is available in 16NSOP and 20SSOP packages and is very suitable for DC-FAN single-phase/three-phase brushless DC motor fan applications. Like other 8-bit MCUs from Holtek, this product has industrial specifications and high noise immunity.
