Network power management
application background:
With the development of information technology, the scale of data centers is also expanding. With more investment and more
equipment is no longer
a new thing for modern data centers to cover the entire floor, occupy different buildings in the same city, and even distribute around the world. With the density of data center equipment and the regionalization of data centers, some problems have also followed. For example, servers, routers, switches and other data devices running
remotely
may cause system downtime due to long-term operation, misoperation or unexpected attacks. These phenomena can generally be
solved by restarting them.

Solution:
Add network power between the power supply and data equipment in the data room, so that maintenance personnel can remotely control the network power supply through management software to power off and restart the data equipment.

Main control chip selection:
This solution uses W7100A as the main control chip of the power control device.
Advantages of choosing W7100A:
MCU+hardware TCP/IP+MAC+PHY single chip, stable Ethernet operation,
high-speed 8051 core, general programming, rich routines, greatly reducing programming development work
, with development kits and related materials, it is convenient for developers to layout and quickly carry out software development,
with technical support, faster problem solving.

Main features of W7100A:
Embedded 1T high-speed 8051 core, code is fully compatible with standard 8051
64K program flash, 256 bytes data flash 64K SRAM, 2KB BOOT ROM, 256B data FLASH, built-in 64KB
SRAM
Built-in PLL phase-locked loop (11.0592 MHz external clock), system main frequency 88MHz
Interrupt controller with 2 interrupt priorities/4 external interrupt sources/1 WatchDog interrupt, WatchDog timer
programmable
4 groups of 8-bit IO ports
3 timers/counters
1 full-duplex UART
compatible with DoCD debug line
Hardware TCP/IP protocol, embedded MAC and PHY Support 8 independent hardware Sockets, can mix software protocol stack
32KB TCP/IP data cache
Adaptive full/half-duplex, 10/100-basedTX Ethernet

System composition and functions:
This system is divided into two parts: central control software and power control equipment.
The central control software is installed on the computer of the equipment maintenance personnel, which can query the power switch status of the remote equipment in real time and manage
it  . When working normally, the remote equipment can be set to restart regularly to ensure the working status.
The power control equipment is installed in the data room and other environments, communicates with the remote control center to report the power switch status of the equipment and
executes the power control instructions issued by the control center. The equipment can be managed in groups without affecting the normal working equipment.

Control software design:

The control software should consist of two parts: parameter settings and control instructions.

Parameter settings include: device IP, connection method (TCP/UDP), connection port and other information.

Control commands include: status query, power on/off, scheduled power on/off, etc.

Power control equipment design:

The power control device includes three interfaces: power supply access, network connection and power supply output control.

When the power supply is connected, it is the local main power supply that provides power to the local equipment and is connected to the output end through a relay.

The network connection part realizes the communication with the remote control center.

The control power output part connects the data device for power management.
