Rochester Electronics and MaxLinear to Provide Sustainable Supply Channel for SHDSL Product Line with Continuous Full Lifecycle Support
Newburyport, Massachusetts, USA, September 2024
MaxLinear is a leader in high-performance analog and mixed-signal products, providing solutions for "interconnection". This time, it cooperates with Rochester Electronics to provide continuous lifecycle management and customer support for its SHDSL series products.
Rochester Electronics is a sustainable channel for the supply of a large number of components in stock. The products sold are 100% authorized, traceable, certified and guaranteed. Rochester Electronics is always committed to the continuous supply of key semiconductor devices, covering a large number of discontinued component products and many non-discontinued devices.
MaxLinear has been a leader in the SHDSL market for more than a decade. The solutions provided are widely used in mature telecommunications and industrial systems, including access networks, customer premises equipment, and industrial networks. These products provide rich and comprehensive features, such as:
-
Point-to-multipoint (Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer - DSLAM)
-
SHDSL dedicated line
-
High-speed digital subscriber line (SHDSL) ring with add/drop function
-
Ultra-long distance SHDSL (1536 kbit/s at 22 km)
-
Ethernet extender (300kbit/s at 50km)
Rochester Electronics offers MaxLinear's PEF2x628E (Socrates-e) SHDSL transceivers. These products can operate in a fully pin-, software-, and firmware-compatible mode and are direct replacements for the PEF2x624 transceiver. The PEF2x624 (SDFE series) was originally the first choice for meeting TDM requirements in SHDSL, supporting ITU-T G.991.2.bis (G.SHDSL.bis) and ETSI TS 101524. The PEF2x628E (Socrates-e) series was subsequently released to meet EFM/ATM/HDLC requirements. This series adds the relevant TC layer functions to support IEEE 802.3ah Ethernet in the first mile (EFM), ATM-TC, HDLC-TC, and TDM/EFM dual bearer.
Many existing applications have an expected service life of 10-20 years. Due to the complexity of firmware and software, a redesign is not an option.
In order to provide customers with long-term reliable solutions, MaxLinear has partnered with Rochester Electronics, which is reproducing the last of its wafer inventory on a first-come, first-served basis to meet ongoing customer demand.
