Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. will establish the "Moriyama Innovation Center", a new research and development base in front of Moriyama Station in Shiga Prefecture. The project will start in February 2024 and is expected to be completed in May 2026.
The purpose of establishing the "Moriyama Innovation Center" is to strengthen basic research, planning, design and planning of existing and new businesses. Through the establishment of new research and development centers, we hope to expand our research and development functions, strengthen relationships with customers, partner companies, local residents, and many other people, accelerate measures to create value, and continuously improve our competitiveness.
In addition, the center will take advantage of its geographical advantages with the headquarters and our offices around Shiga Prefecture to strengthen cooperation with planning and research and development bases, and at the same time promote open innovation through technical exchanges and cooperative development with outside the company, In this way, we continue to provide innovative products and technologies that lead the industry.
The centre’s offices and development floors will be designed to be lit with natural light and minimized to ensure open spaces to encourage communication and inspiration. In addition, a three-dimensional communication space within the company will be built, hoping to activate exchanges among employees with various experiences, knowledge, and values, strengthen development capabilities, and achieve innovation.

"Base isolation structure" is a structure that installs isolation devices such as laminated rubber between the ground and the building to prevent shaking caused by earthquakes from being directly transmitted to the building.
