On September 5, Pinduoduo’s latest merchant notification showed that the basic deposit for merchant stores will be reduced from 1,000 yuan to 500 yuan, and the initialization deposit for newly settled personal stores and corporate stores will also be reduced to 500 yuan.
On September 5, Pinduoduo announced that it would lower store deposits to further reduce merchants’ operating costs.
It is understood that Pinduoduo is conducting centralized testing on the reduction of merchants' store deposit. The first batch of merchants enjoying this policy has covered nearly 70 categories, and some merchants have completed cash withdrawals. Millions of merchants will benefit from this, especially those operating multiple stores, as their operating costs will be further reduced.
Since the beginning of this year, Pinduoduo has continued to deepen its high-quality development strategy. As a package of tax reduction and exemption policies are implemented one after another, the high-quality development strategy will also enter an "acceleration period", and the platform ecosystem construction will usher in a new stage, continuing to bring greater benefits to both the supply and demand sides.
A number of relief measures have been implemented
On August 13, Pinduoduo launched a refundable benefit for technical service fees to merchants who signed up to participate in the on-site resource activities. For all product orders generated by on-site activities such as 10 billion subsidies, flash sales, platform promotions, 9.9 special sales, trendy prices, and multi-person groups, after the user initiates a refund, the platform will proportionally refund 1% of the basic technical service fee for pay-later orders and 0.6% of the basic technical service fee for other orders.
Subsequently, Pinduoduo upgraded its "technical service fee refund benefit". In addition to enjoying the service fee refund benefit, the rate of pay-later technical service fees for orders generated by merchants participating in resource activities was reduced from 1% to 0.6%. In other words, for merchants' pay-later activity orders, the technical service fee was directly reduced by 40%.

A week ago, the "promotion service fee refund benefit" launched by Pinduoduo to merchants has officially come into effect. For orders where consumers make a full refund before shipment, the platform will automatically return a promotion red envelope of the corresponding amount of the promotion software service fee to the merchant, without the need for the merchant to file a complaint.
In order to further optimize the user experience of merchants, Pinduoduo has also upgraded the merchant after-sales service system, opened a green channel, established a special after-sales service team, and fully supported merchants to file appeals against abnormal orders, malicious complaint orders, and consumer negative experience orders. After the merchant's appeal is successful, the platform will compensate for the relevant orders.
At the same time, Pinduoduo has also made special adjustments to the complaint service for merchants' after-sales disputes, and no longer limits the number of complaints that can be made. Merchants can file a complaint with the platform as long as they have questions about after-sales processing. Currently, this new benefit is undergoing preliminary testing, and some merchants can already enjoy this benefit, which is expected to cover all merchants in the near future.
High-quality development enters an accelerated period
At the time of the release of the second quarter financial report, Pinduoduo announced that it will continue to deepen its high-quality development strategy. Chen Lei of Pinduoduo said that
for the long-term healthy development of the platform, Pinduoduo will continue to improve its ecological construction through the combination of "support and governance". In the next year, it will invest 10 billion resources to support new merchants and resolutely carry out merchant ecological governance.
