On August 21, 2018 , WPG Holdings, a leading semiconductor component distributor dedicated to the Asia-Pacific market, announced:


Its subsidiary World Peace launched a 77G millimeter-wave radar solution for advanced driver assistance systems based on Texas Instruments (TI) products.


The solution is based on TI AWR1642's 77GHz radar single-chip module solution and is mainly used in vehicle-mounted assisted driving: blind spot detection, lane change assistance, parking assistance, simple gesture recognition, car door opener applications and other application scenarios.



Millimeter wave radar: The operating frequency is in the range of 30 to 300 GHz. Some people also classify 24 GHz as millimeter wave radar, and 60 to 61 GHz is only used in Japan. Generally, 24 GHz is used for short/medium distance, and 76 to 79 GHz is used for medium/long distance. The higher the frequency and the shorter the wavelength, the higher the accuracy of distance and speed measurement.

Functional Description

  • 77G Radar single-chip solution;

  • Realize the following application scenarios: blind spot detection, lane change assistance, parking assistance, simple gesture recognition, car door opener application;

  • Wide voltage input: 12V~36V;

  • The processed data is output via CAN.
