RAMK060 absolute rotary magnetic encoder offers more reliable, high-resolution performance

Vishay announced that the company's RAMK060 absolute rotary magnetic encoder won the 2020 China IoT Innovation Award in the "Sensor Technology" evaluation of Elecfans.

This year marks the fifth China IoT Innovation Award, which aims to recognize products and technologies launched in the past year that have had a profound impact on the IoT industry. The nominations are determined by online voting, and the winners are voted by the editors of Electronics Fans and industry experts. In this year's competition, Vishay's RAMK060 high-precision position sensor was highly recognized for providing designers with more reliable performance than existing absolute encoders, and better resolution and accuracy than traditional Hall effect sensors.

The 60mm version of RAMK060 uses advanced non-contact technology with an accuracy of greater than 13 bits, a resolution of 19 bits, and a repeatability of greater than 16 bits. It can resist external magnetic fields, humidity, atmospheric pollution, vibration, mechanical shock and temperature changes. This technology architecture provides excellent performance with safety assurance. The device adopts a rotor + stator kit design, as well as an off-axis design (for hollow shaft assembly), an ultra-thin size of 6.5mm and a light weight (less than 55g), making it very suitable for applications with small space and high-precision detection of angular position.

The patented absolute rotary magnetic encoder design is ideal for applications requiring precise and repetitive motion, such as industrial robot and collaborative robot arm joints, autonomous vehicle steering wheels, and printing, textile manufacturing and milling machine tools. The RAMK060's key benefits in these applications include self-calibration to compensate for mechanical eccentricity, built-in self-monitoring, and memory of the last absolute position before power-off.

The 5th China IoT Conference hosted by Electronics Fan came to a successful conclusion, and the winners were announced at an award ceremony held in Shenzhen on December 4.
