If robots also use social software, what will their personal homepages look like?

Sweeping robot

Cat hair under the cabinets that the owner can't reach and scattered in inconspicuous corners are all a piece of cake for me. But what I like to do most is to make the cat happy and chase and play with it at home.

Robots once existed only in science fiction movies, but with the advancement of the times and technology, they have gradually moved from an unattainable distance into our daily lives.

According to the International Federation of Robotics (IFR) Global Robotics Report, sales of the service robotics industry grew 32% to $9.2 billion in 2018. The industry includes professional and domestic robots, such as automated guided vehicles (AGVs) , maintenance robots, and robotic appliances (vacuum cleaners, lawn equipment, etc.) .

The industrial, automotive and electrical / electronics sectors account for more than half of total deployments, with metals and machinery, plastics, chemicals and food and beverage also accounting for large shares . Asia remains the world’s largest industrial robot market, but on the consumer side, North America accounts for 40% of the global consumer robot market, with an estimated compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 16% from 2018 to 2020 .
Since the 48V power bus is already commonly used in a variety of applications because it is the highest universal safe voltage, engineers can reduce system protection, thereby reducing weight, cost and losses. In robotic applications, motors powered by 48V are also generally smaller, which supports smaller and lighter joints, thereby improving machine energy efficiency, dexterity and reliability while reducing weight and cost. This creates more potential opportunities to use robots to improve process automation in all industries.
48V system safety threshold

Robotic design includes many functional elements , including connectivity, image sensing, power conversion, and motor control, depending on the application. There are also many different power subsystems, such as AC-DC conversion, DC-DC conversion, battery management, multiphase converters, point-of-load (PoL) conversion, linear regulation, and motor drivers.

Many modern robotic applications use a 48 V bus to transmit power around the system, with 1/16 the losses of a typical 12 V bus, or to enable the use of thinner and lighter cables. In fixed robotic installations, the 48 V will be generated from the mains supply and a power factor correction (PFC) front end will be employed .
Typically, sensing, imaging, and computing functions require 5V to be stepped down to sub-volt levels. Non-isolated PoL converters play an important role, converting the higher 48V rail to the voltages required by the IC. In some cases, the intermediate bus voltage (usually 12V) is generated using a loosely regulated intermediate bus converter (IBC) , and the PoL converts the 12V to the supply voltage for the IC. Single-stage conversion is becoming more popular, and there are now many PoL converters that can directly convert from the 48V rail to the IC supply voltage.

Robotic Power Architecture

The power architecture for robotic applications must be efficient and reliable and provide high power density levels so that the robot can be small and fast enough to perform its functions well. Selecting the right semiconductors is key to the various power functions within the robot.
ON Semiconductor is an example of a company that has the expertise and investment to provide a broad range of devices and power products that enable designers to design high-performance power solutions for robotic applications. We provide industry-leading products to advance the latest technology trends in robotics.
As the world's second largest MOSFET supplier, ON Semiconductor leads the medium voltage market, offering the lowest RDS (on) from 30V to 150V . Our broad product range includes "Super Junction" (SJ) MOSFETs, with several different versions optimized for different switch types and applications. "FAST" devices provide high efficiency in hard-switching topologies, while "Easy Drive" devices ensure low EMI and reduced voltage spikes, suitable for .
ON Semiconductor also offers a variety of high-voltage gate drivers that allow a microcontroller or other logic circuit to directly control the MOSFET. Depending on the circuit configuration, a simple isolated driver such as the NCD570x series may be suitable.

Isolation Driver NCD570x Series

Highly integrated solutions such as intelligent power modules (IPMs) offer many benefits. Typically, they integrate multiple IGBTs or MOSFETs for three-phase motor drives. These modules offer better thermal performance than discrete solutions because all devices are mounted on the same substrate. They are also able to handle higher current levels while reducing electromagnetic interference (EMI) and are smaller and lighter than discrete solutions.
In addition to these solutions , ON Semiconductor offers a comprehensive product lineup for robotic power applications, including electronic fuses (eFuse) , PFC ICs, rectifiers, current sensors, and switching devices that provide auxiliary power rails. Current sensing op amps use our zero-drift technology to provide a cost-effective solution to maintain accurate feedback readings over increasing ambient temperatures. A high power supply rejection ratio (PSRR) low dropout regulator (LDO) series filters noise from the power supply to maintain signal integrity, ensuring good motor function. In addition, EEPROMs are extremely reliable and rugged, making them ideal for industrial applications.
