The reading and writing sensitivity is increased by more than 3 times! NXP launches configurable industrial RFID tag chip UCODE 9xm
UCODE 9xm has leading performance, and its sensitivity is more than three times higher than that of previous NXP UCODE memory ICs. Customers can choose memory, mark more diverse items, and accurately present supply chain details.
NXP Semiconductors announced the launch of a new chip UCODE 9xm , which combines flexible large-capacity memory with advanced read/write performance. Designed to increase overall system reliability and accuracy, UCODE 9xm enables customers to utilize smaller tag antennas to individually tag smaller objects and integrate them into smart manufacturing processes, supply chain management and tracking applications. The product gives users the flexibility to tag multiple types of objects to gain a more complete view of the supply chain.
RAIN RFID tags have become a vital component in automated industrial processes. However, tags that require memory to support automated processes typically have lower read and write performance than tags with lower storage capacity, preventing all necessary items from being tagged, thereby reducing system efficiency. UCODE 9xm combines flexible large-capacity memory options with advanced read and write performance to solve this problem, while being easy to deploy and improving overall system performance.
Ralf Kodritsch, senior director of UCODE at NXP, said: "From smart manufacturing to supply chain management, a variety of complex processes and advanced automation technologies will be involved in an Industry 4.0 environment. NXP UCODE 9xm makes it easier to independently track the products and tools involved . , thereby simplifying these processes . UCODE 9xm is based on the same architecture as the high-performance UCODE 9, combining large-capacity flexible memory and advanced performance to meet today’s tough industrial IoT challenges.”
UCODE 9xm product details
Compared with the previous generation UCODE memory products, the performance of UCODE 9xm has been significantly improved, making it easy to read tags even in RF-unfriendly environments. The read sensitivity of UCODE 9xm is approximately -24dBm, which helps enable smaller tag antenna designs and supports tagging smaller items; the write sensitivity is approximately -22dBm, ensuring faster and easier tag encoding.
UCODE 9xm provides a total of 880 bits of shared memory space for EPC and user storage space. It also has three flexible memory configurations. Customers can choose according to specific cases. The EPC memory can be up to 496 bits and the user memory can be up to 752 bits, which is convenient for storing batch numbers. , production date, process parameters and other manufacturing data. This means that a single IC can meet the needs of a large number of different cases.
To protect data and ensure data accuracy, UCODE 9xm is configured with memory protection mechanisms, including Error Correcting Code (ECC) algorithms and parity checks. The integrated BlockPermalock feature protects portions of data from changes while still allowing other portions to be added, edited or deleted. Independent access and destruction of passwords provide additional data security, preventing incorrect or malicious actions by unauthorized users.
