Low Voltage Ceiling Fan Reference Design
User Guide
Introduction
The low-voltage ceiling fan reference design demonstrates how to implement high-performance ceiling fan motor control using Microchip's digital signal controller (DSC) dsPIC33CK64MC102. This dsPIC® DSC integrates enhanced on-chip peripherals such as high-speed PWM, high-speed ADC, operational amplifiers, comparators, communication peripherals and timers, making it suitable for advanced motor control solutions. This reference design is designed to drive a low voltage three-phase PMSM/BLDC (permanent magnet synchronous motor or brushless DC) ceiling fan motor. The board is powered by input AC power and has an operating voltage range of 90-265 VAC. This design can drive BLDC/PMSM motors up to 40W.
