According to reports, Qualcomm announced the list of OEM manufacturers that will use the Snapdragon X50 5G NG baseband in 2019 at the 4G/5G Summit, including ASUS, Fujitsu, HMD, HTC, inseego, LG, Motorola, NetComm, NETGEAR, OnePlus, OPPO, SHARP, Sierra, SONY, Telit, WNC, WINGTEC, Xiaomi, etc.; among them, partners of the 5G Pioneer Program include Lenovo, OPPO, vivo, ZTE, Xiaomi, Wingtech, etc.
It is reported that Snapdragon X50 is Qualcomm's first 5G modem chipset, built with 28nm process and with a peak speed of 5Gbps. The chipset supports gigabit speeds and data connections on the 28GHz millimeter wave band.
Finally, according to Qualcomm's introduction at the conference, China's currently planned 5G frequency band is Sub 6GHz, and the Snapdragon X50 supports mmWave high-frequency millimeter wave and Sub 6GHz medium frequency. This means that there is no need to wait until 2020, and commercial use can begin as early as next year.
