AMS and OSRAM’s high-efficiency infrared LEDs enable Shining’s 3D handheld scanners to create ultra-clear 3D vision

Shining 3D's popular handheld 3D scanner Einstar is equipped with ams OSRAM SFH 4726AS infrared LED to create a true color scanning, eye-safe, and highly cost-effective lighting solution;


Thanks to the double-stacked emitter technology and transparent silicone encapsulation, the OSLON® Black series SFH 4726AS achieves small size, high power, high efficiency and optimized thermal management, effectively reducing the pressure of heat dissipation design;


It adopts 3.75×3.75mm transparent silicone package, built-in 1mm2 stacked infrared chip, and the single optical power can reach more than 2W, providing more light source design space for applications in small spaces such as handheld scanners.

The SFH 4726AS infrared LED is compact in size and easier to integrate individually, further meeting the needs of space-constrained applications.


Einstar is a highly cost-effective popular handheld 3D scanner independently developed by Shining 3D based on its years of 3D vision technology accumulation and market demand. Although it is small in size, it has comprehensive functions. Einstar has multiple built-in infrared SFH 4726AS LEDs, which provide powerful and stable light output for the scanner. The minimum point distance of its 3D point cloud data can reach 0.1mm, which can restore the three-dimensional form of real objects in high definition and delicateness.


At the same time, it is equipped with a professional texture camera that can truly restore the color information of the object. The SFH 4726AS LED uses infrared invisible light, which is safer and more comfortable when projecting and will not cause harm to the human eye. In addition, the intelligent fill light setting allows users to freely choose to turn on/off the fill light to avoid the influence of light source stroboscopic light and truly achieve invisible light scanning effect.

The SFH 4726AS infrared LED from ams OSRAM makes the compact design of handheld 3D scanners possible. This infrared LED uses a transparent silicone package with a size of only 3.75×3.75mm2 , plus chip stacking technology. One SFH 4726AS can replace multiple ordinary mid-power infrared LEDs, greatly saving the design space of the scanning equipment.


SFH 4726AS provides an efficient infrared light source with a radiation intensity of 224mW/sr to 450mW/sr, while maintaining a low thermal resistance (maximum 9K/W), ensuring high performance and reliability of the device. In addition, the product is optimized for high-brightness DC operation, with a forward voltage between 2.8V and 3.2V, ensuring stability and efficiency in different application environments.


SFH 4726AS is part of the OSLON® Black series and offers two wavelengths, 920nm and 940nm, to meet different application requirements. It is widely used in various application scenarios that require high-performance infrared light sources, such as human tracking, medical lighting, home and building automation, factory/industrial automation, identity authentication, access control and security.
