The core of digital life is to collect and use data. In many interactions between the real world and the virtual world, the support of data centers is needed. Currently, data centers accommodate about one-third of the world's data. The amount of data generated in 2020 is about 20ZB, and it is expected that by 2025, the amount of data will maintain an average annual growth rate of 15-20%. Today, the challenges facing data centers include not only the need to support massive amounts of data and users, but also the provision of ultra-fast processing and response speeds.
What innovative technologies can solve the challenges faced by data centers? Micron gave two answers: CXL and DDR5.In the video "2022 Taipei International Computer Show Keynote Highlights: Data Center Album", Micron and AMD experts jointly introduced the two advanced technologies, CXL and DDR5. Please watch.
The Evolving Data Center
Speech processing, video analysis, data mining, enhanced simulation and realistic visualization effects often mean that ordinary general-purpose servers will not be enough to effectively and efficiently support the increasing service demands. Fortunately, general-purpose computing and open platforms provide the flexibility to adapt to needs. Transforming general-purpose servers into a composable services platform that delivers the acceleration, storage and memory needed to meet workloads will be critical.
I would like to ask David Moore, Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer of Micron Technology, to introduce Micron’s response.

Modern workloads are redefining the next generation of data centers. The architecture of applications has been updated and iterated, from monolithic applications to virtualized applications, to containerized applications, and now to functional services based on microservice architecture. We have evolved from the era of hardware-centricity to today's software-defined everything, such as software-defined networking and software-defined storage.I would like to invite Robert Hormuth, Corporate Vice President of AMD's Architecture and Strategy Department, to introduce how AMD is working with Micron to build a data center ecosystem and jointly promote the development of the industry.
