On February 28, Nokia (HMD Global) launched three new entry-level smartphones at MWC 2022.
The three new models are Nokia C21, Nokia C21 Plus and Nokia C2 (second generation). They are all designed to "respond to the success of entry-level devices." After all, low-end models helped Nokia achieve a 41% revenue growth during 2021 and enabled HMD Global to complete its first full year of operating profit margin.
According to HMD Global, the Nokia C21, Nokia C21 Plus and Nokia C2 (2nd Generation) have the ruggedness and long battery life that Nokia phones became famous for many years ago. This, combined with the best Android software and security updates, solidifies HMD Global's vision for 2022 and beyond.
The Nokia C21 Plus comes with a dual rear camera, while the Nokia C2 2nd Generation and Nokia C21 come with a single rear camera.
In addition, the Nokia C2 2nd generation also uses a traditional display design instead of a full screen, while the Nokia C21 and Nokia C21 Plus use a water drop screen.
The design of these devices not only maintains the classic "quality" of the Nokia brand, but also strengthens the Nokia C series devices launched in 2020, which accounted for 16% of the company's total smartphone sales in the past five years.
In addition, Nokia C21, Nokia C21 Plus and Nokia C2 second generation will also provide two years of security updates and, as is customary for Nokia devices now, a clean operating system to ensure users have more internal memory space for files and favorite apps.
Along with the Nokia C21, Nokia C21 Plus, and Nokia C2 Second Edition, HMD Global also revealed new audio accessories:
Nokia Go Earbuds 2+, wireless earbuds, clear sound quality, comfortable wearing, support environmental noise cancellation (ENC), sweat and splash proof, play time up to 24 hours
Nokia headphones (wired and wireless) are ultra-lightweight headphones with soft earmuff pads and foldable headphone arms for good comfort.
The Nokia C2 (2nd generation) is equipped with a 1.5 GHz quad-core MediaTek chip, runs Android 11 Go, and supports a removable battery, but it is only 2400 mAh.
Nokia C2 (2nd generation) has 1 GB of RAM and 32 GB of flash memory. The top version has 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of flash memory. It also supports memory card expansion up to 256 GB. It uses a 5.7-inch FWVGA screen with a resolution of 960 x 480 pixels.
In addition, the front camera of the phone is 2MP, the rear main camera is 5MP, there is no NFC, but it supports Wi-Fi 4 and Bluetooth 5, supports 4G LTE Cat.4, 3.5mm standard headphone jack, and the size and weight are 154 x 75.9 x 9.55mm and 180 grams.
Nokia C21 runs Android 11 (Go edition), has a 6.517-inch HD+ screen, an octa-core Unisoc SC9863A SoC, 2GB and 3GB RAM, an 8MP rear camera, a fixed-focus lens, and a 5MP front selfie camera.
In addition, the Nokia C21 is also equipped with 32GB of onboard storage, supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS/A-GPS, Micro-USB (OTG) and 3.5mm headphone jack, rear fingerprint recognition solution, 3000mAh battery, and dual SIM dual standby.
The Nokia C21 Plus is almost identical to the C21 except for offering 2GB, 3GB and 4GB RAM and 32 and 64GB storage. It has a 13 MP main camera and a 2 MP camera on the back, a 5 MP front camera, a 4000mAh battery and supports IP52 waterproofing.
The Nokia Wireless Earphones are equipped with 40mm drivers and soft cushions, and feature a foldable design for easy storage. In addition, the earphones support hands-free calls using a built-in microphone and support voice assistants Alexa, Siri and Google Assistant.
The headset offers physical buttons, supports Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, and is equipped with an 800mAh battery that can provide up to 60 hours of playback time on a single charge. There is also a USB Type-C port for charging. It is available in black and white and weighs 188 grams.
The Nokia C21 Plus will be available in Dark Teal starting at €119 and the 3/32 GB version at €149.
The Nokia C21 will be available in dark blue and warm grey, starting at 99 euros, and the 2/32 version will cost 129 euros.
The Nokia C2 2nd Generation will be available in Warm Gray and Dark Blue colors, starting at 79 euros, and the 2/32 GB version will cost 109 euros.
