The price increase is coming again! Touch screen chip manufacturer Elan Electronics has raised the price of all its products by about 15%

According to Taiwanese media reports, touch screen chip manufacturer Elan Electronics announced today that it will raise product prices across the board starting today to cope with rising costs, with an average increase of about 15%.

Elan Corporation stated that the supply of wafer foundry and packaging and testing has been tight since the second half of last year, and various costs have gradually increased. In the initial stage, only slight price adjustments were made for products with lower gross profit margins.

However, the tight supply chain situation has not eased so far, and the quotation increase continues to expand. Elan Electronics pointed out that in order to cope with the rising costs, it has notified customers to adjust the selling prices of all products, which will be implemented immediately, with an average increase of about 15%.

It is understood that wafer foundry capacity has been tight since the second half of last year, and prices have been raised several times. As 5G applications increase the market demand for wafer foundry capacity and the demand for automotive chips increases, wafer foundry prices are expected to continue to rise.

Affected by this, the prices of MCU, panel driver IC and WiFi chip have already increased since the beginning of this year.
