Qualcomm has previously confirmed that it can supply processors to Huawei, but only in the 4G aspect, while 5G is still under observation.
According to China Business News, Huawei has started preparing orders for new 4G mobile phones. According to the market order delivery rhythm, the finished products of the current mobile phone orders are expected to be launched in the first half of next year. Judging from the timing, it will be launched in the first quarter at the earliest.
The report also mentioned that Huawei's internal staff said that the supply of 4G chips can solve the demand for mobile phones and tablets in most overseas regions, so that Huawei can maintain its channels in major overseas regions, retain its teams and sparks, and wait for future opportunities to turn things around. "At present, Eastern Europe, Russia, Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America are still 4G markets. Some regions only provide 4G networks, and 4G products are still competitive."
Judging from the licensing situation, Qualcomm is currently the only manufacturer that can provide 4G chips for Huawei.
It is understood that Qualcomm had previously actively promoted the US government to allow it to cooperate with Huawei and sought to re-establish cooperation with Huawei on 4G chips, with the main work being undertaken by Huawei's Xi'an Research Institute. After obtaining the license this time, it is expected to increase Huawei's supply capacity for 4G mobile phones.
