According to the official website of the Ministry of Commerce, on September 26, 2019, the official website of the United States International Trade Commission (ITC) announced its decision to initiate two 337 investigations into semiconductor equipment and its downstream products.
The investigation was filed by the US company Global Foundries to the ITC on August 26, pursuant to Section 337 of the US Tariff Act of 1930, alleging that related products exported to, imported into, and sold in the US infringe its patent rights, and requesting the ITC to initiate a 337 investigation and issue a limited exclusion order and a cease and desist order.
Chinese companies including TCL Group, Hisense Group, Lenovo Group and Shenzhen OnePlus Technology Co., Ltd. (One Plus) are involved in the case. The U.S. International Trade Commission will determine the end date of the investigation within 45 days after the case is filed.
In response to this, TCL Group said today that the case involved the company's terminal products, and that the business of this series of products has been separated from the listed company and will not affect the listed company.
