At the fifth "Huawei Asia Pacific Innovation Day" held on the morning of September 3, Xu Wenwei, director of Huawei and dean of the Strategic Research Institute, said that Huawei has obtained more than 50 5G commercial contracts worldwide and shipped more than 200,000 5G base stations. Nearly two-thirds of the 5G base stations were built by Huawei.
Xu Wenwei said that Huawei has started investing in 5G R&D since 2009, with a total investment of more than 4 billion US dollars. He believes that the next 20 to 30 years will definitely be an intelligent world, and 5G will be the foundation of the intelligent world.
Previously, foreign media HuaweiCentral announced the distribution of countries (regions) around the world that allow Huawei to build 5G.
As of June 2019, Huawei has obtained 50 5G commercial contracts worldwide, 28 of which were signed in Europe. At the same time, Huawei also announced that more than 150,000 base stations have been built worldwide, and plans to build 500,000 5G base stations by this year. The report also pointed out that despite the obstruction of the United States, Huawei's 5G base stations will exceed 2 million in the next two years.
