October 14, 2024 – Mouser Electronics, the industry’s leading New Product Introduction (NPI) distributor of the broadest selection of semiconductors and electronic components™, is now shipping UltraWize wire-to-board power connectors from Molex. Designed for demanding data center environments, UltraWize power connectors provide reliable and space-saving power distribution connections for servers (GPUs), switches, and other data center applications.
Molex UltraWize wire-to-board power connectors feature COEUR socket technology and a tapered structure with a larger conductive contact area. This design reduces contact resistance and voltage drop, and minimizes heat generation, providing high current carrying capacity for data centers. UltraWize connectors provide up to 170A of power, while featuring a side cable exit design that eliminates wire bend radius requirements and reduces stacking height. With a staggered pin design, this connector saves space on the PCB, freeing up more space for other components.
Molex's UltraWize connector has a pin header suitable for SMT reflow soldering and adopts a patch package to reduce processing costs and speed up product launch. Its positive locking design prevents accidental loosening of the connection, helping to ensure the uninterrupted power supply required by the data center. The UltraWize power connector has a UL 94V-0 flame retardant rating and an operating temperature range of -40°C to 125°C.
