Hisense XR-V3 solution uses Nordic's nRF52832 SoC to connect the controller and head display with stable and reliable low-power Bluetooth
Oslo, Norway – August 28, 2023 – Hisense Visual Technology, a subsidiary of Chinese multinational consumer electronics conglomerate Hisense Group, has launched a virtual reality platform designed for gaming, entertainment, education, training and simulation applications. Reality (VR) headsets and controllers. The “XR-V3” solution consists of a headset and two controllers, using Nordic Semiconductor’s nRF52832 SoC to provide Bluetooth® LE wireless connectivity to transmit current position and orientation.
In addition to the Nordic SoC, the XR-V3 solution integrates image and motion sensors to obtain the user's head and body position, rotation and acceleration data to understand their position and posture orientation. XR-V3 uses a proprietary six-degrees-of-freedom (6DoF) interactive algorithm to achieve ultra-high-precision spatial positioning. The dynamic positioning error is less than 3 mm, and the static positioning error is less than 1 mm; its high frame rate and Low-latency gesture output reduces operating latency to less than 2 ms.
Immersive and smooth experience
Da Yong Wang, R&D manager of Hisense, said: “The XR-V3 features millimeter-level precise positioning and millisecond-level tracking speeds, combined with Nordic’s industry-leading low-latency, low-power Bluetooth connectivity, to bring smooth immersive experience to users. experience.”
The XR-V3 solution uses three nRF52832 SoCs, one for the headset and one for each of the two controllers. The SoC in the controller monitors infrared LEDs and tactile sensors, and transmits position, orientation and motion sensor data to the headset via a low-latency Bluetooth low energy connection.
The headset uses a 6150 mAh battery and has a battery life of up to two hours after charging. The nRF52832 SoC features features such as a 2.4 GHz radio, 5.5 mA peak RX/TX current, and a fully automatic power management system that significantly reduces power consumption.
The leader in low-power wireless technology
Wang said: "Excellent power consumption performance in sleep and wake modes was a key factor we considered when selecting the chip. Nordic SoC combines low power consumption with excellent RF performance to help provide stable connections and ensure reliable data transmission , and maximize battery life.”
"In addition, Nordic is a leader in low-power wireless technology, with products that enable stable connections, high-speed data transfer and low-latency wireless communications. The company also provides rich, easy-to-use development tools and documentation, as well as a broad range of technologies Support, can support enterprises to quickly develop software and hardware products.”
